TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made on our website and at CB-ONE directly such as Bookings from any other source. We kindly ask you to take a moment to read them prior to making a booking.

1. Rates

The rate is for the apartment, cleaning and communal areas only and is inclusive of VAT and any government taxes applicable. All other services are available at extra cost. To know your room tariff, please contact the Duty Manager.

Facilities are for guests of CB-ONE only. Visitors must be announced and are not permitted to stay overnight unless they book in as all other guests do, show their ID documents at presentation and pay the respective fees.

2. Settlement of Account and Payment Conditions

To secure the accommodation, a 25% deposit payment is required upon making the booking, the remaining 25% deposit is required 30 days prior to arrival. The balance will be settled on arrival and any extras can be paid on departure. Any payments on presentation can be made either in cash, via EFT or by credit card. All amounts paid should reflect the full invoice amount with no deduction of bank or credit card fees. We accept the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB International Credit Card; and the following debit cards: Visa/Delta and Visa/Electron;

Any deposit payments made via EFT can be settled in EUR into our German Sparkasse account or in ZAR into our South African ABSA account. In the event of cancellation any applicable refunds outside South Africa are usually processed via our German account in EUR (currency translation at current rate of exchange), provided that the conversion does not exceed the original deposit amount.

3. Cancellation Policy & Payment Conditions 

The following cancellation fees apply on the full value of the booking:

  • 25% if cancelled within 30 days prior to arrival
  • 50% if cancelled 7 to 2 days prior to arrival
  • 100% if cancelled less than 2 days prior to arrival or no show

4. Company’s Lien on Guest’s luggage and belongings

In the case of default in payment of dues by a guest, the management shall have the lien on their luggage and belongings, and be entitled to detain the same and to sell or auction such property at any time without reference to the guest. The net sale proceeds will be appropriated towards the amount due by the guest without prejudice to the management’s rights to adopt such further recovery proceedings as may be required.

5. Privacy Policy

Information that we take from you or that you enter into our booking forms may be collected and stored by us so that we may contact you in relation to your booking/enquiry/attempted transaction or because the Law requests presentation of your personal documents for business records. We will not use this information for any other purpose, we will not store it for longer than necessary and we certainly will not share it with any other company or sell it to third parties.  Our aim is simply to provide you with the highest level of service that we can.

6. Arrival / Check-in

In the interests of security and to prevent fraud, at the time of check-in, guests are required to confirm their identity by providing their passport/identity card and a valid credit or debit card, which will be swiped/recorded in the presence of the cardholder. By Law, visitors must present personal documents for business records. These documents will be copied for our registers. Unless otherwise stated on the booking confirmation, guests may check-in at any time from 03.00 to 10.00 PM on the scheduled day of arrival.

7. Departure / Check-out

On the day of departure, we kindly ask all guests to vacate their rooms by 12.00 noon (unless a later departure is stated as part of your Booking).  Late check-out after this time can be requested subject to availability and will be charged at an hourly rate at the discretion of the Hotel. On failure of the guest to vacate the room on expiry or period, the management shall have the right to remove the guest and his/her belongings from the room occupied by the guest.

8. Luggage Storage

Subject to availability of the storage space, the guest can store luggage in the reception, at the guest’s sole risk as to loss or damage from any cause, luggage may not be stored for longer than 24 hours.

9. Guest’s Belongings

Guests are particularly requested to lock the doors of their apartments when going out or going to bed. For the convenience of the guests, electronic safety lockers are provided in the room to store any valuables.

The Management will not in any way whatsoever be responsible for any loss/ or damage to the guest’s belongings or any other property from either the apartment or the locker or any other part of the facility for any cause whatsoever including theft of pilferage.

10. Pool Area

The pool area is for use by residents only. Please be aware that the pool is only 1.4 m deep and no diving is allowed. Please Do Not remove pool machinery and equipment, management will remove at your request. Pool area to be used in a considerate manner and surrounding guests and neighbors are to be considered at all times.

11. Smoking

Guests are not permitted to smoke in rooms or public areas.

12. Children

Children are permitted on the property from the age of 12.

13. Pets

No dogs or other pets are permitted on the property.

14. Hazardous Goods

Bringing goods and or storing of raw or exposed cinema films or any other article of a combustible or hazardous nature and or prohibited goods and or goods of an objectionable nature is prohibited.

15. Liability

Guests will not do or allow anything to be done which could be unlawful, contrary to instructions or house rules and regulations, or which could be a nuisance or annoyance to other guests. Guests undertake to abide strictly to such house rules and regulations which may apply from time to time, and to carry out lawful requests and orders by any person designated by the management. Guests will be liable for any damage caused by any breach of the aforegoing.

16. Damage to Property

The guest will be held responsible for any loss or damage to the property caused by themselves, their guests or any person for whom they are responsible. We reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Guest House during your stay (including without limitation specialist cleaning) or for any items that are missing when you leave.

17. Management’s Rights

It is agreed that the guest will conduct him/herself in a respectable manner and will not cause any nuisance or annoyance within the premises. No loud noises will be tolerated and in particular, noise must be kept to a minimum after 10.00 PM.

The Management has the right to request any guest to vacate his/her apartment or other areas of the property forthwith when House rules are broken or not adhered to. The guest shall be bound to vacate when requested to do so. In case of the default, the Management has the right to remove the guest luggage and belongings from the room occupied by him/her.

18. Relation between Management and Guest

Nothing herein above shall continue or be deemed to constitute, or create any tenancy or sub-tenancy, or any other right to interact in the premises or any part of portion thereof, in favor of any guest or resident or visitor, and the Management shall always be deemed to be in full and absolute possession of the whole of the property.

19. Government rules and regulations and application of laws

Guest are requested to observe, abide by, confirm to and be bound by all applicable acts and laws and Government rules and regulations in force from time to time. Cape Town and environs are in the grip of a severe drought, and water restrictions have been imposed, which affect the property of which the apartment forms part. Guests are required to comply strictly with such rules and regulations regarding water usage as may be published by the Cape Town local authority from time to time, and such restricted water usage will not be grounds for cancellation of your booking.

20. Photographs and Videos

Using photographs and videos taken of property for commercial or public purposes is illegal. Those who do so will be subject to prosecution.

 

The management reserves to itself the right to add to, or alter or amend any of the above terms, conditions and rules at any given time.
